One day in the near future ALL of the computing needs of the average person will be handle by their smart phone. The processing power and video capability of smart phones continues to expand. My first gen iPhone has more processing power than my first PC; the problem is the PHYSICAL interface. So why not let the smart phone talk to a full size keyboard, mouse and monitor? Apple are you listening? If you don't do it Google will! Android is already becoming the PC to your Mac. iPhone is far superior to Android now but it is only a matter of time until Android will do more for less money. Sure Android will NEVER be as good as iPhone. Just like PC will never catch Mac (unless the platform dies). But look at the sales figures. I avoided Macs for year just because I couldn't justify the cost differential. It took the iPhone for me to make the switch. I know there are technical issue and it won't be insanely great to start with but add the features anyway and let your developers do the rest.
Technical issues include but are not limited to bandwidth to a monitor and the fact that interfaces intended for a tiny device are not great on full size monitors. Monitor bandwidth is hard and will require a wire, now, but build it into a mini docking station and add the Bluetooth Profiles for keyboards and mice. You already have great Bluetooth keyboards and mice. Bluetooth eventually will handle monitor bandwidth and if you make the monitor smart you can decrease the amount of bandwidth you need. For the interface problem you already have the Mac interface put both on the phone and have it switch to best interface for current use.
Apple, the iPhone is the Apple II all over again, don't blow it this time!
